Business Support Consultant

I started working for Expotel in April 2008 and I currently work in the Business Support Department as a Business Support Consultant which is based alongside Finance in Manchester.

Prior to joining with Expotel I worked as a team leader in the production industry. It felt time for a career change and the right opportunity arose in the business support department at Expotel.

Working in business support has helped me learn more about business travel and I continue to learn new things about the industry all the time.

Keen to progress with the company I took the decision to relocate from London to the new Expotel head office in Manchester earlier this year and it is working out very well.

The business support department takes care of all travel related invoicing as well as any client queries relating to travel.

On a typical day I will spend the morning processing invoices and making sure they are error-free. Most of this process is automated but some manual intervention is required.

Once the invoicing has been cleared I will complete some ad-hoc tasks which need to be done each day, then I will deal with emails received to our mailbox.

Each day tends to be a little different, usually depending upon how busy the travel team were the previous day, but regardless there will always be something that needs to be worked on.

Now that I’ve been with the company a year I feel confident in what I do and have started to get involved in small projects, which allow me to develop my skills even further.
